Job Description

Clinical Nurse Lecturer
SALARY: £15 per hour, £11 per hour shadowing.
CONTRACT: Zero Hours
REPORTS TO: Clinical Lecturer and Researcher
ROLE PURPOSE / SUMMARY: To develop and deliver clinical programmes of study, in line with Ofqual recognition criteria, that will provide access for all learners. Using a learner-centered approach, provide formative and summative assessment and feedback to develop students, enabling them to move on to their chosen career path.

ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop, deliver and assess students in line with the standards set out by BioGrad Education and awarding organisations.

  • Deliver group lectures to 20-200 students.
  • Deliver small group teaching from 1-20 students.
  • Course design, delivery and assessment inline with awarding organisations and other awarding bodies.
  • Assess and grade work such as essays, exams, case studies and presentations.
  • Attend standardisation and moderation meetings.
  • Complete observations of lecturer colleagues.
  • Complete reflective practice. Provide both formative and summative structured feedback to students.
  • Provide first aid training to schools, corporate clients and on-site

2. Provide support for students.

  • Support students during and after their time with BioGrad Education.
  • Writing UCAS references.
  • Supporting students with university applications.
  • Attend schools to give career talks.
  • Keeping student records of achievement

3. and in accordance with awarding bodies

4. To ensure all Health and Safety Policies are adhered to keep staff and students safe.

  • Attend training and meetings.
  • Liaising with external examiners and stakeholders.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures in accordance with company standards.
  • Mentor apprentices.
  • Undertaking clerical duties
  • Ensure that equipment and work/teaching areas are routinely cleaned and equipment maintained.
  • Work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety guidelines, ISO standards and COSSH guidelines.
  • Understand and perform procedures for spillage of chemical and biological material, and fire alarm procedure.
  • Maintain stock levels of all PPE and equipment.
  • Responsible for the health and safety of students in the laboratories making sure students are not left alone in the laboratory areas.
  • Ensure students wear appropriate PPE.
